OPS LABORATORY TECHNICIAN IV - 37990107
The OPS Laboratory Technician IV, 37990107, is in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration's Scientific Services Support Program, Receiving Group in Tallahassee and is responsible for performing technical and clerical work in the Scientific Support Services Program: Logging samples into the DEP (LIMS) Laboratory Information Management System. Packing sampling kits for customers to perform field sampling. Assist the custodian with sample discard. Performs other laboratory duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the physical or natural sciences. Knowledge of the procedures, equipment, and material used in laboratory testing and analysis. Ability to collect, record, and analyze laboratory data. Ability to understand and follow technical instructions relating to laboratory testing and analysis. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and travel. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent, or 1-3 years of verifiable related experience, as described in this posting.
