Jobright.ai Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC - The Reliable One) is currently seeking a Systems Administrator- Oracle Weblogic to join their Technology division. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle WebLogic Server environments hosting OUAF-based applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and security while collaborating with various teams. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server 12c for OUAF-based applications in native installation mode. Manage WebLogic domains, including Administration Servers, Managed Servers, and clusters, to support OUAF applications like CC&B, MDM Deploy and troubleshoot OUAF application EAR files using WebLogic Administration Console or WLST scripts. Configure WebLogic resources, including JDBC data sources, JMS queues, and JNDI settings, ensuring connectivity to Oracle databases. Apply patches and upgrades for WebLogic Server and OUAF applications, ensuring compatibility and compliance with Oracle support guidelines. Optimize WebLogic Server performance by tuning JVM parameters (e.g., heap size, garbage collection) and connection pools. Implement security configurations, including SSL, OUAF keystore setup, and integration with LDAP Automate administrative tasks using WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST), Python, or shell scripts Monitor application health and WebLogic Server metrics using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager or Splunk, analyzing logs for errors and performance issues. Configure Node Manager for remote server management and high availability. Support application deployments, including version control, release management. Troubleshoot issues related to WebLogic Server, OUAF framework components, , database connectivity, ensuring minimal downtime. Ensure compliance with utility industry regulations and organizational security policies. Provide on-call support for production OUAF environments and perform maintenance tasks during scheduled windows. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field of study, from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education, experience or certifications may be substitutable on a 1:1 basis Minimum of five (5) years of experience overseeing complex environments or advanced application experience with understanding of functional processes Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware components (e.g., SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus) integrated with OUAF applications Expertise in WebLogic Server administration, including domain setup, clustering, and performance tuning for OUAF applications Experienced installing and maintaining J2EE applications Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders Analytical mindset for troubleshooting complex issues in WebLogic and OUAF environments Ability to work under pressure and manage production incidents effectively Proficiency in deploying EAR files and configuring JDBC, JMS, JNDI Experience with WLST, Python, or shell scripting for automation of WebLogic tasks Familiarity with Oracle databases and connectivity setup like JDBC configuration with Oracle RAC Knowledge of security configurations, including OUAF keystore, SSL Experience with operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows) and virtualization platforms Familiarity with monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, Splunk for OUAF and WebLogic environments Ability to take on new system assignments and learn new technologies Ability to research and pilot new technologies Ability to research and introduce new versions of relevant applications Ability to implement security controls with industry approved tools Ability to research and implement monitoring tools Ability to respond 24/7/365; as scheduled for on-call support Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, compute rates, ratio and percentages Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) and use standard office equipment (computer, telephone, etc.) Preferred: Knowledge of OUAF-based applications (e.g., CC&B, MDM) deployment and administration Willing to learn OUAF patch application processes and version control standards Company: The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC - The Reliable One) is a municipally-owned public utility providing electric and water services to the citizens of Orlando, Florida, St. Founded in 1923, the company is headquartered in Orlando, Florida, USA, with a team of 1001-5000 employees.
