You'll take as many as 50 - 70 calls per day from customers who have questions about their health benefits. As their advocate, you'll use your personality and our tools to help them through the health care benefits available to them, including helping them enroll in a new plan. This is no small opportunity. This role is equally challenging and rewarding. You'll be called on to research complex issues pertaining to the caller's health, status and potential plan options. To do this, you'll need to navigate across multiple databases which requires fluency in computer navigation and toggling while confidently and compassionately engaging with the caller. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7am - 8pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer up to 14 weeks of training. The hours during training will be 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home. 100% attendance is required during the training period. Primary Responsibilities:

Respond to and resolve, on the first call, customer service inquires and issues by identifying the topic and type of assistance the caller needs such as benefits, eligibility and claims, financial spending accounts and correspondence Help guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care topics to select the best benefit plan options, maximize the value of their health plan benefits and choose a quality care provider Contact care providers (doctor's offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other UnitedHealth Group websites and encourage and reassure them to become self-sufficient Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience Must be 18 years of age or older 2+ years of experience with customer service OR experience in a medical office, health care, call center or office setting analyzing and solving customer problems including the use of conflict management skills and resolving stressful situations This position involves member calls, with an expected volume of 50 - 70 calls daily. It requires full attention to work duties. Employees in this role must ensure they have uninterrupted work time during their shifts, except for scheduled breaks and lunch periods Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management) Ability to work any full-time 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM CST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need Preferred Qualifications:

Health Care / Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, OR benefit plan design) Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change (working with vulnerable populations) Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
