Influencing credit risk strategy at a leading bank. Engaging in diverse analysis with regulatory emphasis. Leading comprehensive reviews of leveraged finance transactions, including LBOs, recapitalizations, dividend deals, and covenant-lite structures. Evaluating borrower creditworthiness, capital structure, cash flow sustainability, and sponsor strength. Assessing risk rating accuracy, underwriting rigor, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidance (e.g., Interagency Guidance on Leveraged Lending). Analyzing transaction terms, covenant packages, collateral coverage, and exit strategies. Identifying emerging risks related to sector trends, macroeconomic shifts, and sponsor behavior. Preparing detailed review reports with findings, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies. Presenting results to senior management, credit committees, and regulators as needed. Collaborating with leveraged finance originators, credit officers, and portfolio managers to validate risk assessments and promote sound credit practices. Monitoring market developments, deal structures, and rating agency trends across leveraged credit. Contributing to the refinement of the credit review methodology for leveraged lending, including sampling, scoring, and reporting frameworks. Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred. 12+ years of experience in leveraged finance credit risk, underwriting, or credit review within a major commercial or investment bank. Deep understanding of leveraged lending structures, sponsor dynamics, and market conventions. Familiarity with regulatory expectations and leveraged lending guidance from OCC, FRB, and FDIC. Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills, including cash flow forecasting and debt capacity assessment. Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings to senior stakeholders. Experience with credit systems and platforms (e.g., Moodys, S&P, Dealogic, or similar). Proven ability to lead reviews independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. $150,000 to $225,000 on the base.
