Senior Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Norwalk, Connecticut. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial goals. Responsibilities: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, including monthly and annual accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improved resource allocation. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines. Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely booking of journal entries based on approved schedules. Coordinate intercompany transactions and processes with subsidiaries to ensure consistency and accuracy. Establish and enforce accounting control procedures to maintain reliable financial records. Prepare detailed financial management reports to support strategic decision-making. Facilitate tax filings, including monthly sales tax submissions, and address taxation-related issues. Support financial audits by preparing required documentation and coordinating audit activities. Monitor and analyze revenue, expenditure trends, and financial commitments to provide actionable insights. Requirements: Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. Proficiency in booking journal entries and reconciling accounts accurately. Strong background in bank reconciliations and invoice processing. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and recommend improvements. Ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
