Process Technician
As a Process Technician, you will direct shift Maintenance, Deck Operators and Hot Ends for maximum productivity. You will also ensure that plant process operates within parameters established by the Manager, Process Engineering, and that processes are optimized for best quality products and highest production efficiencies. Responsibilities
Monitor work habits of the Maintenance Department and Operators to ensure that they are performing in a safe manner Communicate and model safe work habits to everyone in the plant Direct Maintenance staff, Deck Operators, and Hot End Batch/Binder associates Determine if machines need to be taken out of production for repairs or service Allocate maintenance resources on shift Troubleshoot maintenance problems with machinery when it is beyond typical troubleshooting performed by mechanics and electricians Requisition parts and materials necessary for the continued operation of the plant Contact contractors for repair assistance as needed and directed Communicate maintenance and process issues with the off-going and oncoming shifts to ensure continuity of operation Read and record comments in logbooks (both maintenance and production) Follow up on preventative maintenance routines assigned to mechanics and electricians Monitor key process variables on the hot end and make any adjustment necessary Monitor quality checks performed by QA for conformance to product quality standards, trends, etc Monitor finished scrap for excess waste and process problems Assist Shift Supervisors and Superintendent in correcting process problems or optimizing process efficiency Help coordinate order changes Work on special projects as assigned by Maintenance Manager/ Manager, Process Engineering Ensure that Maintenance provides the best possible service to keep machines operating at maximum efficiencies and output Function as the "technical leader" in the plant on particular shift Ensure that all machines are being properly set up to run the most efficient, productive process Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Technology and five (5) years of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment, coupled with five (5) years of maintenance experience troubleshooting pneumatics, hydraulics and electro-mechanical systems OR Minimum ten (10) years of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment, and ten (10) years of maintenance experience troubleshooting pneumatics, hydraulics and electro-mechanical systems Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of PLC Programming Knowledge of AC/DC drives Knowledge of machinery and its design/use Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards Knowledge of standard maintenance processes/procedures in a similar environment Knowledge of process improvement methodologies/practices Computer skills in a MS Windows Environment; proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel It is the policy of Knauf Insulation to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, protected veteran status or any other protected characteristic prohibited by applicable law.
