Requisition #: 36571 Job Summary: Provide clinical care to patients with genetic and metabolic diseases. The individual will work collaboratively with other faculty and team members. The successful candidate will join ten clinical geneticists, eleven genetic counselors, and administrative staff in a thriving academic medical center including regional satellite clinics. The primary focus of this role is clinical care in the general genetics clinic. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional clinical services to outpatient and inpatient patients with known or suspected genetic disorders and inborn errors of metabolism. Share on-call responsibilities with the other genetics faculty. Participate in the education of genetic residents, medical students, pediatric residents, and genetic counseling students. Medical Degree, Board Certified in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, 0-2 years of clinical experience. Assistant Professor:
Medical Degree, Board Certified in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, 0-6 years of clinical experience, interest in pursuing academic promotion. Associate Professor:
Medical Degree, Board Certified in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Six or more years of clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 year(s) of prior experience supporting Peds Genetics patient population Clinical experience with children or adolescents with genetic disorders and inborn errors of metabolism Clinical experience in an academic medical center environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles of genetics, inborn errors of metabolism, and general peds medicine. Comfort with inborn errors of metabolism inpatient diagnosis and management (with backup if needed). Knowledge of standard inpatient and outpatient clinical operations and procedures. Ability to develop and present educational information to patients as well as to professionals. Ability to provide genetic counseling, and technical information in a comprehensive, understandable, nondirective manner to patients and families. Ability to work independently as well as serving as a team member. Ability to gather data and prepare reports. Skilled in communication, both oral and written. Skilled in establishing priorities. The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Senior Instructor
$110,000 to $165,000 Assistant Professor
$170,000 to $183,000 Associate Professor
$200,000 to $216,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
