The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Technical Manager in the Advanced Materials and Transportation Product Platform (AMTPP) laboratory you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Leading a global team of product developers that will support a portfolio of Automotive Structural Adhesives products through execution of Change Management Projects (CMP) and support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. Develop a strong understanding of our customer/market needs and align product development resources to the strategic direction of growing automotive structural adhesives products for body-in-white (BIW) and battery assembly applications. Collaborating with teams from Corporate Research and Enterprise Supply Chain to identify and implement new technologies to maintain and grow the automotive structural adhesives product portfolio. Hire and develop product development staff to meet the ongoing needs of the product portfolio. Develop current employees to expand their capabilities and empower them to grow as professionals. Manage NPI and CMP pipeline to ensure rigorous prioritization, alignment with stakeholders, timely execution of projects and project documentation. Foster an environment of innovation and collaboration among product engineering community that results in generation of 3M intellectual property through the filing of new patent applications. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) Seven (7) years of product development, product engineering, in a private, public, government or military environment Current, valid Driver's License. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Masters's degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) Ten (10) years of product development, product engineering, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment Experience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliability. Experience in direct supervision of product engineers Demonstrated history of significant contributions to an organization through growth initiatives. Collaborative interpersonal style with experience in leading project teams. Strong communication skills, proven ability to develop and maintain productive networks within the 3M technical community with demonstrated ability to influence.
