Under limited supervision, serves as the City's Clerk of Court and Ministerial Judge in accordance with prescribed standards and schedules of the South Carolina Court Administration's policy for municipalities. Performs various court functions in the absence of the Municipal Judge such as issuing warrants, holding bond hearings, releasing individuals from custody, etc. Exercises responsibility for Clerk for Court functions such as processing/preparing required documents and reports, collecting bond monies, attending court proceedings, and related duties. Must maintain effective working relationship with City Judge. Performs the duties as the supervisor of the Court employees. Minimum Training and Experience: Education: Associate's degree Experience: Five (5) years of advanced clerical experience with exposure to court proceedings and working with the public Certifications: Preferred: S.C. Magistrates Certification Note: The City retains the right to determine equivalencies. Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines which includes a typewriter, computer, printer, calculator, postage machine, television, VCR, recorder, transcriber, etc. Must be able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to thirty five pounds. Health & Wellness Employee Health Center (EHC) The City of North Myrtle Beach (CNMB) provides an EHC for full-time employees and eligible dependents on the city's health insurance plan. The EHC provides sick visits, primary care, and annual physicals with no copays.
