Sr Financial Controller

Join our innovative, world-class team today! Reporting to the Director of Accounting, we are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join our pipeline accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of oil and gas, midstream, or pipeline accounting experience with deep knowledge of financial reporting and analysis, and of US GAAP. If hired, you will be responsible for all aspects of property accounting for multiple midstream and pipeline projects. Job responsibilities: Assist in all financial accounting processes for a $5B portfolio midstream and assets and investments Lead monthly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries and financial analysis Oversee maintenance and execution of SOX control environment and activities Prepare timely and accurate management and investor reports and support external reporting requirements (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, etc.) Work closely with other accounting personnel, FP&A, project operations and management, and the corporate financial reporting team to ensure the proper accounting, consolidation and reporting of all assigned projects Prepare and review monthly accrual vs. actual variance analysis Assist with internal and external audits for portfolio Preferred skills: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Master's- Accounting/Finance 4+ years of midstream/pipeline experience Experience with external and management reporting Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP Hands on experience with financial statement preparation and review Experience working in SAP Financial systems (S4 HANA) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks and deadlines Ability to demonstrate initiative and interact effectively with others in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) Advanced Excel skills Problem solving and analytical thinking as necessary to accomplish accounting and finance objectives NextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
