Nurse Aide Trainees Opportunity
Are you looking to get started or advance your healthcare career? The Green Home, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Wellsboro, PA, is currently seeking Nurse Aide Trainees (NA Trainees) to join our team! This is a paid training and UPMC will cover the costs associated with becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Class Dates & Locations: September, Muncy Place October, The Green Home November, Muncy Place This is a paid 16-day training program. Students will be hired as NA Trainees while attending the training. Upon successful completion of the training candidates will complete a four (4) week orientation at The Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. NA Trainees will move into CNA positions after completing the training and successfully passing the CNA assessment. Candidates will be able to work in a Service Assistant capacity if starting prior to the class date. Service Assistant duties include but are not limited to assisting the CNAs, passing waters, stocking carts, etc. Responsibilities include: Performing in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors Performing other duties as assigned Spending extra time with residents Providing report to the team leader and Nursing Assistant Instructor a minimum of twice a shift and as needed Making final rounds on all assigned residents to ensure they are comfortable and their needs are met Maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff Following standard precautions at all times Notifying Nursing Assistant Instructor of necessary repairs Observing all facility safety policies and procedures Interacting and communicating effectively with all customers Maintaining confidentiality of information Working cooperatively and pleasantly with all staff, residents, family members, and Nursing Assistant Instructor Accepting assigned duties in a cooperative manner Following established performance standards and nursing service policies and procedures Maintaining educational competency Providing resident care under direct supervision of the Nursing Assistant Instructor Making rounds to all residents on assignment to ensure no immediate requests Checking therapy and bath schedules Assisting with food distribution and feeding residents Checking on residents at least every two hours Encouraging residents to attend activities Qualifications: Educational/Knowledge Requirements for a CNA/NA Trainee: High school graduate or equivalent preferred Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques Ability to communicate orally and in writing Licensure/Certification: CPR required based on AHA standards Act 34 Criminal Clearance Older Adult Protective Service Act Act 14 UPMC is an equal opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran.
