The TIE Semiconductor Business Analyst Associate/Senior Business Analyst Associate will report to the Sr. Director of Business Analytics. The role will carry out financial and business analysis for TIE's products and services, build/update/maintain financial models, collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide business strategies for TIE's long-term success, and support TIE's grant preparation and submission activities. It will perform other duties as needed for the Senior Director of Business Analytics and TIE Leadership. The TIE Semiconductor Business Analyst Associate/Senior Business Analyst Associate may work independently or with others, assisting the TIE Sr. Director of Business Analytics to achieve the following goals: Create, upgrade, and utilize semiconductor fabrication cost, capacity, and pricing models to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses/forecasts. Provide financial forecasts and trend analysis by performing "what if" and sensitivity analyses. Support TIE's sales and business development teams by providing quantitative financial estimates for proposed product and service offerings. Facilitate financial reviews and analyze performance to plan for key financial measures, including expenses, capital, and headcount. Interface with the TIE finance team to ensure that TIE's business analytics models agree with TIE's other financial models, records, and forecasts. Interface with TIE's IT teams to assist in implementing organization-wide ERP, MES, and MIS software solutions, and interface with these software solutions to retrieve data relevant for TIE business and financial modeling. Develop performance measures that assess trends in data, provide insights, support efficiency initiatives, and provide decision support for investment decisions. Support the TIE leadership on business analytics projects broadly and as needed, providing support for ad hoc analysis. Provide general support TIE's grant writing and submission activities, including: grant writing, budget creation, general support for principal investigators, and interfacing with other UT Austin offices as needed; Create/maintain records/databases as needed to ensure tracking of financial metrics, quantities, as well as intellectual property and agreement commitments. Work with TIE leadership and UT contracts negotiations staff to assist in initiating, monitoring, and completing a portfolio of various legal agreements and letters with external parties, including: Non-disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Sponsored Research Agreements (SRAs), Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Visiting Scholar Agreements, Letters of Support, Memoranda of Understanding, etc. Other duties as assigned. Business Analytics Associate: Bachelor's degree in a finance, business, accounting (or a related field); or, Bachelor's degree in an engineering or sciences field related to the semiconductor industry and demonstrated background/competence in a finance, business, accounting, or a related field. Senior Business Analytics Associate: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting (or a related field) or engineering and science field and 2 years of experience working in finance, business, accounting (or a related field); or, Master's degree in a business, finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ERP and MIS systems and reporting tools. Able to become an expert user of various software tools in a short timeframe. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent follow-up and execution. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. More than 2 years of experience working in finance, business, accounting (or a related field) working in the semiconductor industry. Advanced proficiency in ERP and MIS systems and reporting tools. Prior experience working in the semiconductor industry. Experience with cloud-based MES systems. Working knowledge or experience with 3D ICs including various integration schemes.
