The role you'll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments. The value you'll bring to the team: Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practices designated system when appropriate. The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Minimum qualifications: High School Grad or Equiv Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or National Center for Competency Testing-Medical Asst (NCMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Association for Healthcare Professionals-Medical Asst (NRCMA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Preferred qualifications: 1 year of related experience Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
