Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for AMER regions. Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting. Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc) to reduce long term energy costs. Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects. Work collaboratively with Amazon CFE/RE team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities. Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid (through utilities), reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon. Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects. Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects to meet the business timelines. Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects (capital and operational) and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply. Responsible for completing due diligence on in-market opportunities and developing those opportunities into cost savings for the business. Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives. About the Team
