Full-Time Intake Counselor Position
Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health is now seeking to fill a Full-Time Intake Counselor position. The Intake Counselor serves as the first point of contact for referral sources and potential patients to schedule assessments and/or admissions. Responsibilities include thoroughly assessing and completing the assessment tool for all clients, communicating information with the on-call provider and nursing to determine an appropriate level of care, documenting all findings and recommendations, assisting clients in being admitted or referred out to the service or resource to best address their needs, referral management and ensuring prompt response times, providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional staff requesting information regarding potential admissions, completing insurance verification and precertification as applicable, and participating in crisis and safety interventions as needed. Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related field, or RN required. Experience: At least one year experience utilizing assessment skills preferred. Age-Specific Competencies: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric. Licensure/Certification: CPR required; CPI Certification required. HIPAA: Has access to Medical Records of cases to which they are assigned work, for quality compliance and risk related issues.
