Responsible for advising, recruitment, and outreach for apprenticeship programs. Tracks and monitors student progress and ensures compliance with apprenticeship program guidelines. Develops and maintains community relationships to support the placement of students in jobs for their respective apprenticeships. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. What a day of an Apprenticeship Advisor looks like: Qualifies, registers, and monitors students in apprenticeship programs. Advises students as to course of study, particular course offerings, necessary testing, and prerequisites. Assists students with program or course selections, assignments, scheduling, and placement. Assists students with job placement and applications for licensure. Follows up with students post-graduation to track and maintain employment records. Administers activities associated with the recruitment and selection of students, including in-person and online information sessions. Researches and identifies potential employers and job opportunities for the apprenticeship program. Administers employer outreach and builds and maintain relationships with community partners. Identifies and investigates roadblocks to student success within the program and resolves or escalates as necessary. Prepares required reports for various internal and external requests. Provides information to the public, students, and staff regarding programs and services of a department, campus, or College. Advises students on college related matters. Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations, as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. We'd love to hear from you if you have the following: Bachelor's degree One year of related experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application Skilled in attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management Resolving conflicts between individual needs and requirements of the organization Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public Gain the confidence and respect of diverse stakeholders in order to work effectively and build relationships of trust Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Regular physical attendance required Must complete FERPA training within 30 days of employment Some periods throughout the year will require extended work hours including nights, weekends, and college closures Requires travel between campus locations Valid Florida driver's license Work Environment and Physical Demand: Reach and grasp objects Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl Stand for extended periods of time Use of video display terminal Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills Communicate information orally and in writing Receive and understand information through oral and written communication Proofread and check documents for accuracy Operate a motor vehicle This job description is intended to be generic in nature and describe the essential functions of the job.
