Maintenance Technician

Job Summary Assists with and performs under direction of General Maintenance "A" in performance of duties Primary Duties & Responsibilities Makes mechanical repairs Reads mechanical prints and identifies bearings by type, thrust, radial, pillow block, etc., and has a good knowledge of bearing and shaft fits. Disassembles gear boxes, identifies components per prints and reassemble Sets up and operates machine shop equipment in conjunction with repairs and parts fabrication Makes electrical repairs and/or assists with electrical trouble shooting, modifications and new installations Has some ability to read and trouble shoot from hydraulic prints. Repair hydraulic valves and pumps from manufacture spec sheets General knowledge of air conditioning and ability to check pressure, amperage, charge, and trouble shoot Performs maintenance welding such as that required to fabricate per prints or sketches that may also require using acetylene and oxygen torch Utilize safe work habits Wear appropriate PPE Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures Other duties as assigned Education & Experience Qualifications Three years minimum of mechanical and/or electrical experience Must have established competence in two or more of the mechanical/electrical trades and be knowledgeable in two additional trades. (Millwright, Building Maintenance, Machinist, Electrical-Electronic, Hydraulic-Pneumatic) High School diploma or equivalent Job Requirements Ability to work overtime and shift work as required Standing up to 12 hours daily Walking up to 12 hours daily Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily Behavioral Competencies Dependability/Attendance Problem Solving/Judgement Technical Competencies Ability to read precision gauges Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
