Assistant Coach/Director of Operations, Track and Field/Cross Country

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Coach/Director of Operations, Track and Field/Cross Country. Role of the Position: With the new staffing model that has been adopted, this position exists to serve as the Assistant Coach/Director of Ops to the Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach with day-to-day operations of the program which include but are not limited to budget management, travel planning, home meet management, monitoring of academic progress, community relations, fundraising, recruiting and track and field event specific training and development. This position will serve as the lead recruiter for the track and field program and will actively seek out prospective student-athletes who will fit the overall athletic and academic mission of the program. This position will be expected to recruit student-athletes who will assist UNLV in becoming highly competitive at the conference and national level of the sport. This position will work directly with the facility and game operations staff to promote home track and field events, as well as practice and competition scheduling and other special events. In addition to his established role, he will be performing the role of home meet director for all home events. This position will assist in the academic mission of the program by working directly with our academic support staff to monitor the academic progress of student-athletes. This position will work directly with athletic training, strength and conditioning staff and the nutritionist to coordinate training regimes as they relate to student-athlete needs. This position should have basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertain to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval for Athletic Compliance prior to participation in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies. Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of one year of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
