Black & Veatch Sustainable Process Solutions help clients lead the transition of affordable and reliable energy by increasing low carbon energy generation while accelerating pathways to global decarbonization. The solutions included in this portfolio include hydrogen, ammonia, sustainable fuels and carbon capture. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Executive to join our team. The Sustainable Process Solutions Portfolio Lead is responsible for fostering an industry best safety and quality culture, and for developing and implementing the Sustainable Process Solutions strategy to position the company in the industry and to ensure competitive edge. This is a P&L responsibility, and the leader works together with various internal & external stakeholders in profitably growing the solution portfolio in accordance with the strategy and ensures competent allocation of project management resources are allocated timely and efficiently from acquisition into successful execution of the projects. Management of Sustainable Process Solutions includes solution sales, development of talent, performance management, budget, market analysis, risk management, and negotiation of contracts. Key Responsibilities
Develops overall strategy for Sustainable Process Solutions to ensure growth, establish Company presence in the industry, and maintain competitive edge in conjunction with anticipating trends and/or changes. Responsible for strategic plan, alignment with Fuels and Natural Resources operating plan, and goals and commitments for Sustainable Process Solutions. Identifies work based on assessment of the market and determines products to sell and methodology of execution to perform the work. Contributes to portfolio strategy evolution across BV. Develops business cases for near and long-term adjacent solutions. Educates internal stakeholders on the solution and value proposition. Provides thought leadership and engage the external community. Influences, manages, and/or establishes various budgets including Project Gross Margin (PGM), revenue, and overhead expenses. Execution of projects; consistently delivers as-sold or better project execution results. Responsible for project profitability including safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Facilitates project reviews to ensure quality of product, management of client expectations, and handle any related issues. Assists project management in negotiating, assessing, and mitigating risk for contracts for projects and subcontractors. Maintains strategic alliances where appropriate. Collaborates on client segmentation strategies; drives engagement with peers to create an enterprise account and service approach. Supports sales activities to capture new business and maintain existing clients. Works with clients to develop viable solutions Drives proposal activities including solution value definition, relevant risk and quality management and competitive pricing determination. Implements administrative policies and procedures for Sustainable Process Solutions in alignment with division. Regularly meets with external entities including clients, contractors, suppliers/vendors, and partners to establish strategy and execution for projects, pursue new business, negotiate contracts, and review project status. Supports strategic alliances and growth. Determines merit and bonus distribution for department, considering internal equity while adhering to budget and corporate guidelines. Approves compensation actions including merit increases, promotions, bonuses and salary adjustments. PM/PD development. Supervisory responsibilities typically include recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, goal development, evaluating, terminating and disciplinary actions. May develop and implement strategy, establish and monitor budget. Management responsibilities
Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is in engineering, business management, or related technical discipline Prior project management or project execution experience preferred Strong industry knowledge for Line of Business Knowledge of contract terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms Excellent knowledge of business line technology General business acumen Strong financial acumen, understanding of financials such as Project Gross Margin (PGM), revenue, overhead costs, and division/department income statements Strong knowledge of budgeting process and systems Knowledge of management techniques and administrative practices Strong knowledge of risk management and commercial issues Knowledge of Company programs, policies, processes, and organizational structure Strong knowledge of division administrative policies and procedures Intermediate knowledge of Human Resource programs, policies, and procedures Excellent client service skills; ability to develop and maintain key relationships; negotiation and influencing skills Presentation skills Strong strategic and business planning skills, profitable growth mindset. Strong problem-solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve) Conflict management skills Knowledge of change management methodologies Project management skills Leadership ability (P&L management, team building, coaching, mentoring, change management, advising) Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required 11+ years progressive experience in management of relevant business line and related technology All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
