Accounts Payable Specialist
At Cornerstone, we are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-driven professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering operational excellence in Accounts Payable. As a core member of the team, you'll be responsible for monitoring and responding to inquiries in our Accounts Payable shared mailbox and ServiceNow ticketing system, resolving escalated payment issues, and working directly with vendors to reconcile balances. You'll partner closely with our Shared Services team in India and collaborate with internal business partners to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of ownership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently while building cross-functional relationships. In this role you will Monitor and triage the Accounts Payable inbox and ServiceNow tickets to ensure timely resolution of vendor and internal inquiries Process urgent or escalated payments in accordance with policy and established deadlines Collaborate with vendors to investigate and reconcile past-due balances, duplicate payments, and unapplied credits Support month-end close activities by preparing reconciliations and documentation as needed Liaise with our offshore Shared Services team to ensure consistent application of AP policies and effective issue resolution Maintain vendor master data and ensure compliance with internal controls Assist in maintaining compliance with procurement and travel & expense policies Provide input to improve AP processes and enhance the end-user experience Support audit requests and documentation gathering as needed You've got what it takes if you Have 24 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related financial operations Have experience working in a shared services or global finance environment Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in managing vendor relationships and cross-team collaboration Are self-motivated and can manage workload independently with minimal supervision Are comfortable navigating multiple systems and tools (preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud and/or ServiceNow) Are detail-oriented, organized, and focused on maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines Have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset Are comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial documents (basic Excel required, intermediate a plus) Have a high school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or AP certification is a plus Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Consideration for privacy and security obligations Equal Employment Opportunity has been, and will continue to be, a fundamental commitment at Cornerstone OnDemand.
