CNC Set Up Machinist
Our team is looking for a skilled CNC Set Up Machinist for the day shift, Monday through Thursday (4x10) from 4:30am to 3:10pm. Responsibilities include: Setting up all 2 and 3 axis machining jobs on vertical, horizontal, or turning centers Changing feeds, speeds, and making other basic G-code edits as necessary, and reporting changes to the programmer or supervisor Trouble-shooting machining defects (dimensional or surface finish) and either correcting or recommending correction as appropriate Designing and building simple machining fixtures (e.g. soft jaws, custom plates) Observing and evaluating tool wear, making recommendations for alternate tooling types Inspecting any features except 3D surfaces Providing training guidance to lower skilled machinists Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years experience with CNC set up and operator Knowledge of one of the following CNC controls: Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas Must have G-Code experience Demonstrated working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) Strong tooling experience (calipers, micrometer, height gage, pin gages, thread gages) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
