Prairie View A&M University Cooperative Extension Programs Proposed Minimum Salary: $3,194.84 monthly Job Location: Prairie View, Texas Job Type: Staff Job Description: The Communications Specialist II (Information, Impact & Sustainability Center), under general supervision, writes, edits, designs and assists in the production of informational and promotional materials, presentations and special events. Responsibilities: Prepares and maintains content for all digital media content including "Monday Minute" and "Dean's Desk"; writes, formats, and distributes bi-weekly newsletters; assist in the preparation of Marketing Tool-kit deliverables; provides resources to faculty and staff including, but not limited to, printed publications (brochures, flyers, impact reports, etc.) and promotional items for distribution to CAFNR stakeholders, students, prospective students, and community members. Performs consistent office administrative duties such as filing documents, work orders, internal communications, and client requests among other responsibilities; attends CAFNR-hosted events and programs to oversee accurate data and demographic collection, sign-in/registration, set up, and attendee submitted surveys; assigns work and provides mentorship for IISC student workers. Serves as CAFNR main support in compiling data, mining, and analysis for various programming, events, and marketing goals; processes, verifies, and reviews data for CAFNR website and database; helps to plan and market programs in support of agents spanning over 60 Texas counties; provides research and information that helps determine future program/event success, and/or changes needed based on past data reports and participant feedback; posts relevant marketing content on CAFNR social media platforms and maintains proper performance data. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in applicable field. Two years of communications and/or marketing experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
