Polysomnographic Sleep Tech I
The Polysomnographic technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The technologist should be registered in sleep technology or be eligible to sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire. The Medical University of South Carolina Sleep Center is located in Charleston at the main hospital. It is accredited by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We are looking for strong dedicated people to join our team with a passion to deliver the best possible healthcare and education to our patients. We provide testing for all ages (0-99+). Under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with sleep patients. State Licensure and/or professional certification requirements may be required depending on the position. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
