Front Desk Assistant And Insurance Verifier

The front desk assistant and insurance verifier will possess excellent written and verbal skills and be in communications with physicians offices and patients. Responsibilities will include the verification of benefits and coverages of insurance plans specific to the patient with the ability to calculate an estimated responsibility. Contact will be made with patients to make payment arrangements for upcoming procedures. This position will also work closely with other members of the facility in order to source the most accurate information available for all cases to be worked. Greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, performing office opening procedures, petty cash balancing, co-pay/co-insurance collection, assisting patients as needed and other clerical duties as assigned. Requirements: Two years experience in an insurance verification role. High school diploma. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of computer systems, programs. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office. Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude. Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations. Ability to work effectively with medical staff, management, authorizations, external agencies and patients. Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
