We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional dermatological and surgical care. This role involves assisting in surgical procedures, scribing, rooming, providing wound care and suture removal, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of clinical operations. Responsibilities
Room patients and document all vital information accurately. Scribe information for the dermatologist during consultations and procedures. Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples as required. Clean and stock exam rooms to maintain a sterile environment. Schedule patient appointments efficiently. Take appropriate photographs of Mohs stages, label and organize them meticulously. Handle specimens for pathology according to prescribed standards. Assist in procedure room maintenance, including case preparation, room turnover, and instrument processing. Prepare patients prior to procedures by obtaining and reconciling medical and surgical history, medication lists, and allergies; document appropriately in EMR. Assist in pre and post op care, as well as assisting during procedures. Providing wound care and patient education. Educate patients on treatment plans, expectations, and post-operative instructions. Essential Skills
Proficient in suture removal and dermatology procedures. Ability to accurately take patient vitals. Experience with medical preparation and disassembly of surgical instrumentation. Proficiency in using EMR systems. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and aseptic techniques. Work Environment
The position offers a structured schedule from Monday to Thursday with occasional Fridays during cooler months. Work locations include St. Peters on Monday and Tuesday, and Webster Groves on Wednesday and Thursday. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
