Academic Advisor

The Office of Graduate & Continuing Studies at The University of Tampa has a position for an Academic Advisor to advise and enroll students to assigned programs using appropriate strategies. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President/Director of Graduate & Continuing Studies. Responsibilities

1. Serve as liaison between Graduate & Continuing Studies admissions and academic programs in assisting newly admitted students. 2. Work with relevant faculty; assist Graduate & Continuing Studies students with developing appropriate programs of study and understanding academic requirements. 3. Assist non-business graduate program directors in managing activities related to outreach to students and maintaining student records. 4. Maintain close contact with Registrar and relevant faculty on all issues pertaining to part-time, adult student requirements and records. 5. Continually update knowledge of all curricula and requirements for Graduate and Continuing Studies. 6. Coordinate services to support adult students. 7. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of all cultures and backgrounds. Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. 2. One (1) year prior administrative experience including customer relationship management. 3. Experience in an academic setting with activities associated with advising. 4. Aptitude and experience with computer systems and databases, preferably including administrative software such as Slate and Workday. 5. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends. 6. Good oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills needed, as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely. 7. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office. 8. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices. Required Attachments
