English and Spanish (preferred but not required). The work is based in St. Johns Office and in the local community. This position is not remote. Qualifications: A bachelors degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or closely related field; OR A bachelors degree in any field and one year of human services related experience (such as work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues like economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing); OR An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or closely related field and two years of human services related experience; OR Three years of human services related experience. Must have a valid driver's license or other acceptable method of transportation. A job offer is contingent upon passing tests evaluating your proficiency in English and Spanish. Candidates must clearly demonstrate meeting the minimum qualifications in their submitted resume or application. Adept at building rapport and work relationships with clients, teammates, and other stakeholders, and ability to collaborate in diverse workplaces. Experience working with marginalized populations; empathetic and trauma-informed. Strong communication skills verbally and in writing; ability to listen actively and patiently. Your duties: As a Family Coach in the Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP), you will provide resources and services to help people move out of poverty and toward whole well-being. Programs include food benefits, cash assistance, childcare and medical support, services for domestic violence survivors, resources for refugees, and support for youth experiencing homelessness. You will work closely with families to address barriers, gain skills, and access employment to become self-sufficient. Conduct interviews to determine family need and eligibility. Explore alternate resources and link clients to community services. Complete program applications and issue support payments if eligible. Engage clients in a family evaluation of strengths. Develop a case plan with the family, identifying steps towards self-sufficiency. Monitor progress, needs, and modify the case plan as necessary. Participate in case staffing, employment readiness, life skills training, and supports job search. Working conditions: Fast-paced environment. High volume of individual and family contacts. Engage with diverse people, including those experiencing emotional and financial stress. Work with domestic violence survivors. Conduct work in offices, participants homes, and other community sites.
