Driver - Class B

Reports to: Warehouse Operations Manager Located in Jessup, MD Schedule: Monday - Friday, day hours varies The objective of this position is to exceed the customer's expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations. Management of Driver Apprentice/Helper. Required skills & abilities: Ability to influence employees. Attention to detail in all aspects of training process. Organizational skills and leadership skills Bi-lingual a plus; Spanish Computer skills, including Word, Excel Ability to follow all safety protocols Physical requirements: The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly The ability to respond quickly to sounds The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations The ability to see well at night and drive in the dark Minimum requirements: 21 Years of age Minimum 2 Year CDL Driving experience Must be able to work in incremental weather Must have reliable transportation Must be comfortable working overnight and weekends Accountabilities: Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer product deliveries Drive safely and deliver products within deadlines Load and unload products from trucks or trailers Put product away based on customer specifications Follow local and state driving laws and road regulations Maintain the vehicle and equipment clean and safe Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork Follow DOT regulations and safety standards Assures all tasks are performed according to company policies and procedures Maintains required paperwork, documentation May be subject to various audits: Regulatory Federal, State, Third party, inspections Follow set, scheduled route for daily deliveries Read maps or set GPS to determine and track daily route Organize product inventory in your vehicle and unload products in and out of truck as needed throughout the day Make sure inventory being delivered matches' manifest and labels on the product. Scan or write in confirmation of delivery upon arrival to the recipient client Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift. Refuel vehicle as needed Follow safe driving protocols Perform pre and post trip inspection Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while on route to supervisors Follow all company and state-enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading products Scan the entire route and communicate your issues with scanning with the on-duty supervisor daily. If the route is not scanned, then corrective action will follow. Communicate credits, items that are requested to be picked-up on the pickup form with supervisors at the end of their day.
