The AVP leads and directs the strategic, operational and developmental planning of all university facilities in support of the mission of the university. The AVP supports institutional goals and priorities through the stewardship of physical assets and implementation of sustainable practices. The AVP manages the physical plant and grounds, including the operation, space use, maintenance, repair, planning, construction and renovation of university facilities and grounds. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction and Building Management or related degree. 5 years of strong experience with managing capital planning and/or facilities processes and/or teams 5 years of experience with oversight for major construction/renovation projects, preferably in a University environment. Project Management Certification AutoCAD, California Building Codes, deep understanding of blueprints and construction drawings. Knowledge of Master Planning process ( CEQA , EIR , etc.) Demonstrated competency in verbal and written English communication skills. Must be able to present to various University constituents, including to the Board of Trustees
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree desirable. Registration as a professional engineer/licensed architect desirable. Land development processes Public Private Partnerships Seniority level
