Position Summary
nAmerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US , is looking to hire a skilled Diesel / Trailer Technician in San Bernardino, CA! The Diesel / Trailer Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy-duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Diesel Technician position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy-duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair. Comprehension of Fleet Maintenance operations, understanding of electrical, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspection experience and knowledge. Strong PM & Repairs for the following equipment are required: Diesel and Trailers. Must have 4 years of DOT Inspection and Repair experience, Cummins Insite, Road Range. Customer service-oriented work with drivers and dispatchers. Strong computer expertise for POs, sending emails, and communicating with customers via email.

What the Diesel Technician role looks like:
n- n
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer n
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to medium to heavy-duty vehicles n
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation n
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures n
- Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles n
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles n
- Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary n
- Perform other duties as required n
What our ideal candidate looks like:
n- n
- At least 4 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school n
- Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B “ preferred n
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly n
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox. n
- Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles. n
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) n
Working Conditions:

- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job. n
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise. n
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants n
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance n
- Ability to move and position heavy objects n
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles n
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. n
