Job Description
nThe successful candidate will have an active role in the following:

- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes. n
- Develop construction drawings, contract documents and QAQC plans for commercial, industrial, public improvements, utilities, and residential projects. n
- Coordinate and complete day to day workflow on projects including project studies, reports, calculations and other similar design related assignments. n
- Focuses on achieving department objective and profitability goals and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance work team. n
- Assures customer design service needs are met by meeting design schedules. n
- Collaborates with project teams to discuss problems and challenges and help create solutions to move forward in a cost effective and efficient manner. n
- Provides technical assistance to customers on specific projects. n
- Perform field inspections of construction projects and assist with preparation of addenda, RFI responses, and change orders. n
- Evaluate geotechnical report findings for civil and structural design work. Select and design appropriate foundation systems. n
- Perform and report results of structural condition assessments of existing facilities. n
- Meet and correspond with KVE team, clients and project stakeholders. n
- Serve as a mentor to and provide guidance to less experienced staff. n
- Performs work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and an appreciation for the company’s cultural values, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth. n

- The successful candidate shall possess a B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited degree program and have a Professional Engineering License (PE or SE) in the State of KS, MO or the ability to obtain a license in these states within 60 days of hire. n
- Working knowledge of current industry software, EnerCalc, Risa3-D, WoodWorks, and AutoCAD Architecture, Revit is preferred. n
- High-level communicator, both written and oral. The ability to give a 360-degree perspective. The ability to give an editorial. The ability to synthesize and integrate what other people are saying. n
Experience

- Three years of consulting experience with relevant experience managing and navigating the completion of structural projects is required n
