We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time dishwasher/ kitchen porter to join our team. It’s a physically demanding job that requires stamina, efficiency, and a strong work ethic. You'll be on your feet most of the day, lifting, cleaning, and staying active in a fast-paced environment.

Saturday & Sunday, 8:30am-5pm
16 hours/week

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all bakery areas, including the kitchen, dishwashing station, storage areas, outdoor spaces and restrooms.
- Wash and sanitize baking and service equipment, dishes, utensils, and trays using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Bus dirty dishes from the café and restock clean ones to the front of house to support cleanliness and smooth service flow.
- Sweep, mop, and clean floors regularly to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Take out trash and recycling throughout the day and at closing; maintain dumpster area cleanliness.
- Restock supplies (soap, paper towels, cleaning products, etc.) as needed.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis (e.g., cleaning ovens, walls, drains).
- Wash and dry towels, mopheads, and other reusable cleaning cloths as part of daily cleaning routines.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries; ensure stock is rotated and stored properly.
- Responsible for end-of-day kitchen closing procedures, including final cleaning, turning off equipment, locking all doors, and arming the alarm system as the last person out.
- Support bakery staff with light maintenance tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Label, store, and rotate inventory per food safety standards.
- Communicate any supply issues or equipment concerns to the Manager.
- Uphold and model the company’s core values of communication, collaboration, and respect for the space and resources.
- Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines (including those from the California Department of Public Health).
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Pass Food Handler Exam.
- Proficient using email and basic computer skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Reaching high storage shelving with a stepladder.
- Squatting, kneeling, bending to reach for objects in the lower cabinet or shelving.
- The noise level and temperature fluctuates with equipment use and outside weather.
- Exposure to hot ovens, cold storage, sharp tools, and food allergens.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, to cut, handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee will spend up to 10 hours standing; walking; bending; stooping and reaching with hands and arms.
- The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Walk-in refrigerated area is extremely cold.
- Working around kitchen equipment and tools.
- Work in close proximity to others in a collaborative and team-oriented space.
