Executive Chef – Mediterranean Upscale Dining

About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Executive Chef to lead the kitchen of our elevated Mediterranean dining concept in New York City. This role is ideal for a chef who brings both creative vision and operational discipline—someone who can translate the diverse culinary traditions of the Mediterranean into a refined, modern experience. The Executive Chef will be responsible for driving culinary excellence, developing seasonal menus, building and leading a high-performance team, and ensuring consistent, top-tier execution of dishes that reflect authenticity, innovation, and finesse.
Key Responsibilities:
● Oversee all kitchen operations with a focus on efficiency, consistency, and quality
● Develop and execute a dynamic Mediterranean menu that reflects regional depth—Greek, Levantine, North African, Turkish, and Southern European influences
● Lead, train, and mentor a kitchen team with a focus on high performance, consistency, and professional growth
● Control food costs, labor, and inventory while maintaining high culinary standards
● Build relationships with premium purveyors and local producers to source seasonal and authentic ingredients ● Ensure kitchen adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
● Collaborate closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to align on guest experience and business goals
● Create a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture rooted in excellence and accountability
● Stay current with culinary trends, dietary preferences, and industry innovations Requirements:
● Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior culinary leadership role, preferably in high-end or fine dining restaurants
● Deep knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and a demonstrated ability to modernize and elevate traditional flavors
● Proven experience managing kitchen operations, food costs, inventory, scheduling, and vendor relations
● Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building cohesive teams
● Culinary degree preferred but not required
● NYC Food Protection Certificate or ability to obtain
● Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and excellence
