Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Production Baker to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and is passionate about scratch baking.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and bake a variety of items including breads, pastries, cookies, muffins, and specialty baked goods.
- Scale, mix, shape, proof, and bake doughs according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
- Maintain consistency in product quality, taste, and appearance across all batches.
- Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment (e.g., mixers, fryers, ovens) safely and effectively.
- Follow proper food safety protocols, including labeling, rotation, and sanitation procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs or shortages.
- Assist with developing new products or seasonal items as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods.
- 1–3 years of professional baking or pastry experience, preferably in a high-volume or commercial environment.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and familiarity with artisan and traditional methods.
- Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines precisely.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Culinary or baking certification is a plus but not required.
- Fast-paced open commercial kitchen or bakery environment.
- Exposure to hot ovens, sharp tools, and heavy equipment.
- Requires early morning shifts depending on production needs.
