Job Summary:

The Assistant Cafeteria Manager is responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Perform cashiering duties in the sale of food items to students and staff; maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills, and/or ability necessary. Read, write, and speak English Food Handler or ServSafe certification required Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and production Working knowledge of computer applications to include POS operation and reporting, production records, email, online ordering systems, and HAACP recording Accuracy when dealing with money and reconciling numbers and records, able to stand on feet on and off for 5-6 hours Able to lift 50 lbs. Excellent leadership and customer service skills Flexibility and dependability Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements Candidates must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

:

Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely basis with or without reasonable accommodations.

Assist manager with production of entire meal service to include breakfast and lunch preparation, a la carte items for students and staff, using a thorough working knowledge of commercial kitchen operations. Properly use all kitchen equipment Assist with inventory and ordering of food and supplies Accept deliveries and maintain proper storage and handling of food and supplies according to the health department Supervise and work hand in hand with staff completing tasks using a team approach Operate the POS system including cashiering, prepayments, student account reconciliation. Assist with end of day reports and production records. Complete and verify daily deposits to the bank in absence of manager. Attend seminars and workshops for professional growth and to keep Food Handlers Certification current. Be able to attend meetings/training sessions after hours and in the summer if necessary. Assume the responsibilities of the manager when the manager is on leave Float to other schools within the district to fill in as a food service manager when managers are on leave
