As an integral member of our production team, your responsibility will be to ensure precision, efficiency, and top-tier quality in all metal processing operations. Location: LaPorte, TX Duties: Skillfully read, interpret, and analyze mechanical drawings to guarantee accuracy. Set up saws and execute forming operations with precision, adhering to specified tolerances. Operate saws to cut fabricated metal products as per production work orders and product specification sheets. Determine the optimal metal and quantity to be cut based on the bill of material. Strategically plan cutting sequences to minimize setup and changeover time. Operate controls proficiently to engage machines and remove finished products. Vigantly observe machine operations to detect material defects or machine malfunctions. Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality. Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment in the saw area. Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy. Knowledge of: Mechanical drawing dimensions, tolerances, layouts, notes, symbols, and data references. Saw machines and controls, including designs, safe usage, repair, and maintenance. Efficient production processes, incorporating quality control and safety practices. Skills/Qualifications: Swift and precise adjustment of machine controls. Proficiency in selecting the appropriate tools and equipment for each task. Sound mathematical skills, including metric and English conversions and fractions to decimals. Effective prioritization in a fast-paced environment. Experience in conducting tests and inspections to evaluate quality and performance. Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Acceptable Education/Training/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 1 to 2 years of relevant experience. Other combinations of experience and education meeting minimum requirements will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Employee may need to provide personal tools, with some tools provided by the company. Work Environment: Shop environment with necessary PPE as per OSHA standards. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and vibration. Occasional stress due to tight deadlines, with potential for extended working hours. Ability to work in varying climate and temperature conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, and active participation in two-way communication.
