Mechanical Trade Technician
An experienced mechanical trade technician supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of utilities distribution systems, machine tools, and equipment. Working from manuals or verbal instructions, identify and evaluate condition to repair and rebuild. Primary mechanical support for air compressors, water distribution pumps and motors, distribution control systems, and utilities building support equipment. Maintain and modify equipment and facilities. Work without direction on standard preventative maintenance and extensive repairs. Diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts. Maintain and modify machine tools, conveyors, process equipment, facilities including spindles, pumps, motors, guarding, drives, bearings, lead screws including lubrication fluids and coolant. Strong mechanical and hydraulic fundamental and safety knowledge (schematics, precision measurement tools, LOTO) Testing, analysis, and repair of electrical/electronic components of motors, transformers, electrical devices, electronic devices, magnetic devices, lighting and power circuits, equipment and machinery, and control circuits. Repair and modify valves, compressors, pumps boilers, soot blowers, heat exchangers and other utility equipment. Test systems for proper functionality. Safe operation of lathe, milling machine, grinding machine, router, power saw, drill Identifying and tracing leaks from roofs and drains, replacing ceiling grid and tiles, etc. Calibrate instrumentation and relays Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts Operate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Order materials and parts for job execution Request quotes from OEM vendors Use current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include an A.A.S. two-year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study, OR military advanced training in applicable field, OR journeyman credentials in applicable field. Desired requirements include minimum 3 years work experience in manufacturing facility in a technical maintenance role, ability to apply knowledge of components, devices and equipment used in industrial equipment applications and the related mechanics including various machine tools, measurement devices, lathes. The base pay range for this position is $33.35 to $41.24 (inclusive of a $5.28 per hour transition adder). The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
