Estimator
The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, visiting jobsites to gather information regarding the project, and aggressively following up with subcontractors to ensure their bids are received. Estimators work closely with our project management team. They must assess the time, labor, and materials requested for a project and communicate those requirements to the client. Estimators are actively involved in pre-construction activities, so the ideal candidate will have experience throughout the entire project cycle. Responsibilities: Prepare complete estimates and proposals for paving, heavy highway construction, and other site-work projects, including: Analyzing data related to project design, including civil and construction drawings and specifications Estimating job costs, material, and labor needs Preparing proposals and work plans with completion dates and conceptual budgets; completing and submitting bid forms for new projects Soliciting bids/quotes from subcontractors and suppliers Have knowledge of construction codes Understand project plans and submittals Participating in pre-bid meetings, periodic reviews and site visits, as needed. Good work ethic, attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of applicable construction management experience Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules Familiarity with Contracts and Subcontractor Agreements Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to respond efficiently to customers, vendors, subcontractors, and employees Ensure compliance to all safety procedures and policies Organizational skills Benefits: Salary negotiable based upon experience 401K Retirement Plan 100% Employer Paid Health Insurance - 0% Employee Contribution Paid Vacation Paid Holidays Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs Company Vehicle/Mileage Reimbursement Annual Bonus Commensurate with Performance
