JOB TITLE : Patient Service Representative (PSR)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
The Patient Services Representative performs general business office functions that may include some or all of the following:
Charge capture and over-the-counter payment posting; Insurance verification and eligibility; Insurance pre-authorization/pre-certifications; Counseling patients and families on insurance and payment issues before surgery. Schedule procedures and communicate with physician offices Ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered into the billing system in an accurate and timely manner. Registers patients in the system. Collects and revises all patient insurance information. Collects co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of service. Posts approved adjustments to patient accounts. Balances receipts, reconciles daily work batches, and prepares audit trail. Assist with other business office tasks like ordering, physician credentialing, chart prep, etc. Needs to have availability from 06:00 am -6:00 pm on-site REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or GED required. Two years of minimum office experience in a customer service environment Medical experience preferred, not required
