Business Intelligence Analyst II

The Business Intelligence Analyst II is key in designing, developing, and optimizing advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that drive operational, financial, and clinical insights. This role builds upon foundational BI skills and requires a stronger analytical focus, data modeling expertise, and the ability to support complex data initiatives. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders across multiple departments to refine reporting needs, improve data accuracy, and implement scalable analytics solutions that enhance decision-making.

Essential Functions:

Work with stakeholders to define complex reporting requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions. Develop, optimize, and automate reports, dashboards, and analytics using SQL, Epic reporting tools, Power BI, and other BI platforms. Perform advanced data analysis, including statistical modeling, forecasting, and trend identification, to support strategic decision-making. Create and maintain structured data models to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity. Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple sources. Contribute to data governance efforts by establishing standard definitions, improving documentation, and ensuring compliance with organizational data policies. Collaborate with technical teams to integrate and enhance data pipelines, improve ETL processes, and optimize reporting performance. Support and mentor junior analysts, assisting in problem-solving, development techniques, and best practices. Evaluate and implement new BI tools and methodologies to improve data visualization, reporting, and automation capabilities. You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting. Proficiency in SQL, including joins, subqueries, common table expressions (CTEs), and performance tuning. Experience with Epic reporting tools (e.g., Reporting Workbench, Clarity, Caboodle) and other BI tools such as Power BI. Understanding relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data warehousing concepts. Strong mathematical and statistical skills, including performing regression analysis, forecasting, and KPI optimization. Ability to work independently on complex data challenges while effectively collaborating with teams. Experience in healthcare analytics is preferred, with knowledge of regulatory reporting (e.g., UDS, HEDIS, MACRA). Strong communication skills to translate complex data findings into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
