This role will be leading our DevOps engineering team and owning the end-to-end delivery of DevOps initiatives, building automation pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks, and scalable CI/CD workflows across application and infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in cloud platforms, container orchestration, and DevSecOps best practices, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the DevOps practice across US and Bermuda, running and owning the Center of Excellence (CoE) / Community of Practice (CoP) for DevOps, fostering knowledge sharing, standards, and continuous learning. Develop and execute a strategic DevOps plan and roadmap aligned with overall IT strategic goals, driving maturity and innovation across the organization. Design, implement, and continuously improve automation pipelines spanning application deployment and infrastructure provisioning, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and security. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, etc to enforce repeatable and auditable infrastructure deployments. Architect and build robust workflows and CI/CD pipelines leveraging Git/Azure ADO and modern DevSecOps tools, maximizing automation and traceability. Collaborate closely with application teams to support deployment into production environments, driving smooth onboarding, security best practices, and release management. Own and enhance observability frameworks by implementing comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies that support high SLA achievement and proactive issue resolution. Partner with Platform Engineering and Architecture teams to build scalable, secure, and reusable platforms, accelerating development velocity across US and Bermuda-based teams. Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior DevOps engineers and developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in development workflows and promote automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure deep understanding and application of network fundamentals, security protocols, APIs, and HTTP in the context of cloud-native environments. Drive strategic DevOps adoption and maturity, aligning DevOps initiatives with organizational goals and collaborating with architects to integrate DevOps across Azure and AWS platforms. Proactively monitor system performance, anticipate operational challenges, and implement robust solutions to maintain high availability and reliability. Lead security policy enforcement for Kubernetes clusters, including cluster management, access control, and compliance in a microservices/cloud-native architecture. Champion DevOps culture and best practices throughout the organization, driving innovation, accountability, and excellence in software delivery. Required Qualifications:
5-8 years of proven experience leading DevOps practices and teams in a complex, cloud-native environment. Strong proficiency in Azure and AWS cloud platforms. Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster management, security policies, and operational best practices. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and Azure DevOps. Solid understanding of network architecture, security protocols, APIs, and HTTP. Experience designing and scaling automated CI/CD pipelines using modern DevSecOps tools. Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-native application patterns. Demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking, and ability to influence cross-functional teams. Experience owning and running a DevOps CoE/CoP and developing strategic plans and roadmaps. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with developers, security, operations, and architecture teams.
