Licensed Psychologist Opportunity

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Licensed Psychologist to work at a facility in Brooklyn, NY. These are registry positions with our company. Pay Rate: $75/hour W2. Qualifications include being a licensed psychologist with at least one year of experience working with adolescents. Proficiency in the English language, effective communication skills, and strong leadership qualities are required. A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association) and the required licenses, permits, and/or certifications in the state of NY are also necessary. Responsibilities include serving as clinician-of-the-day by being available for on-call during scheduled work days for patient emergencies; working effectively and cooperatively with staff from all classifications; conducting initial mental health evaluations; conducting clinically sound suicide risk evaluations; meeting with mentally ill inmates/wards for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, face-to-face interviews, etc.; identifying signs and symptoms of psychiatric disorders; applying psychological assessments; writing clinical reports regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and developing treatment plans; consulting on complex cases; documenting all care provided; monitoring inmate progress; applying community standard of practice for psychological treatment modalities; performing mental status exams; examining prior mental health records; establishing collaborative ties with community programs; conducting mental health education; assisting patients-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits; participating in IDTT meetings; compiling and analyzing data from audits; providing information to support staff; providing written reports and consulting with the Board of Prison Hearing and other CDCR staff; providing relatives/caregivers with information concerning patients; developing a therapeutic relationship with the patient-inmates/youths; representing the department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters; maintaining order and supervising the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility; giving input and helping to implement new programs for the treatment, training or rehabilitation of patient inmates/youths.
