Material Handler
Stewart Manufacturing, LLC a manufacturer that provides high quality precision machining services to the automotive, diesel engine, heavy equipment and power generating industry is currently accepting applications for the position of Material Handler, 2nd & 3rd shifts. This position's rate of pay will commensurate with experience. There is an additional $1.00 per hour shift premium. Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties. Reads production schedules, inventory reports and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority. Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status. Examines material received, verifies parts numbers and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts. Compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment. Drives forklift in and around property to complete these tasks. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bar Coding experience preferred, computer skills, inventory control, and forklift experience with an emphasis on loading and unloading vehicles. Ability to obtain a chauffeur's license and be approved to drive by our insurance carrier. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and Outlook. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence and communicate with customers and trucking companies. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
