Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) Engineer

Intelligent Waves is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) Engineer to support our mission-critical work for a government customer in Reston, VA. This role is part of a program that delivers enterprise-wide IT support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)'s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD), consolidating, modernizing, and continuously innovating IT services and mission capabilities across CONUS and OCONUS environments. Adherence to all customer site protocols is mandatory for employees. Responsibilities: Provide System Administrator and/or Network Administrator II functions on Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret networks. Monitor, troubleshoot, patch, and manage DTRA's IT server, storage, and network infrastructures. Ensure continuous, secure, and efficient access to infrastructure for DTRA partners and mission users. Support day-to-day IT systems administration and operational reliability. Be proficient in Active Directory; manage user accounts and security groups. Provide application support per SLA agreements across DTRA offices. Use Remedy to create incident tickets, tasks, work orders, and Smart Reports. Provide 24x7x365 NOSC support in alignment with DoD directives and agency requirements. Maintain real-time situational awareness of DTRA's IT infrastructure and environments. Lead restorative actions and triage efforts to ensure operational continuity. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and escalate degradations and outages; follow through to resolution. Communicate clearly with all levels of government and contractor leadership. Coordinate and report incidents with vendors, DoD, and other government agencies. Draft and distribute critical network Outage Notification emails per SOP timelines. Qualifications: BS degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6-10 years in network ops, help desk, or IT support (or equivalent combination of education and training). Strong oral and written communication skills for procedural documentation and leadership updates. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, etc.). Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and related protocols. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments. Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance at time of consideration. Must hold an active Security+ or equivalent certification prior to start. One of the following IAT Level II certifications is required:

CASP+ CE (SecurityX) CCNA-Security / CCNP Security CCSP / CISA / CISSP (or Associate) CND / CySA+ / GCED / GCIH GICSP / GSEC / Security+ CE / SSCP
