We are hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our team of talented medical professionals to conduct a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exam in Colorado Springs, CO. Employment Status: Part Time Compensation: This is a hourly position, paid bi-weekly. Schedule: Part Time, BH that can travel 2 weeks a month to all states as needed within Region 3 to include- WI, WY, ND, SC, CO, NE, TX, OK, KS, IA, MN. Candidate must live near a major airport in Region 3. (Male required for job role) Benefits: 401(k) Plan Requirements: The Clinical Psychologist must have and meet the following: Male only required for this job role. When a patient is seen by a Clinical Psychologist, the Colorado Springs, CO VA facility provides the patient with the option for either a male Clinical Psychologist or female Clinical Psychologist, according to what will make the patient most comfortable during a sensitive examination or procedure. The Colorado Springs, CO facility therefore must provide patients with access to both male and female Clinical Psychologists to facilitate patient choice. This posting is specifically for a Male Clinical Psychologist, which will allow the Colorado Springs, CO facility to fulfill its male Clinical Psychologist staffing needs. Requirement Qualifications: Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one state in the United States. Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or must have completed a 2-year residency with either specialty. Psychologists must obtain a PhD or PsyD with a Major in Psychology; Specialty studies must focus on the adult population such as Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (or a combination of these). Child-focused psychology programs are not acceptable. Psychologists must have graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA-accredited program. Certification: Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to providing excellent service and care. Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms. Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making. Works independently and can manage time in order to provide a quality service while meeting set deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in clinical settings. Prior VA or C&P experience. Job Summary: Review pertinent mental health history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment behavioral health compensation and pensions exams for Veterans. The Clinical Psychologist will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations. Common reasons for assessment are PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
