Quality Assurance Representative
You will function as a Quality Assurance Representative for new construction, restricted availability, repair or regular overhaul of ships. You will function as a member of simulated INSURV Board during Builder's Trials and assists INSURV Board during Acceptance Trials. You will develop, implement and coordinate activity and department quality functions. You will monitor the Contractor's Production, Quality and Manufacturing performance in the shipbuilding disciplines including: vessel hull structure, marine equipment, weight handling equipment, damage control, Fueling-at-Sea, and coating systems. You will provide inputs to the contractor's and SUPSHIP corrective action programs by initiating corrective Action Requests (CARS) and follows up to determine corrective action adequacy. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance functions for ship building programs (e.g., related to Hull, Mechanical, Electrical Systems inspection; inspection of contractor programs; Interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications; NDI testing) to identify problems and provide recommendations for corrective action. For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with quality assurance inspections for shipbuilding programs (e.g. related to ship fitting, hull fabrication, weight handling systems and equipment, fueling at sea and replenishment at sea equipment and systems, outfitting, ventilation) to ensure compliance with procedural standards.
