Marine Technician
Our Commercial Lines Operations Team is seeking a Marine Technician to join their growing team in our Itasca, IL office. This is a full time, non-exempt opportunity. This is a hybrid position (2x a week in office). Position Overview
This position reports into Marine Tech Operations and is responsible for supporting Inland Marine Operations and Field Underwriting by providing technical support functions including processing of New Business and Renewal policies as well as subsequent transactions. The role allows Underwriter Associates to focus on underwriting of routine and renewal business, operational workflows and to provide superior customer service experience to agents. In This Role, You Will:
Processes new business, renewals and bypass renewals within quality standards ensuring that proper issuance documentation is complete and accurate within the established guidelines. Provide clear and accurate instructions for issuance to offshore team. Request additional information from underwriting as needed and use appropriate communication channels to refer or follow up with UA/UT to ensure outstanding items are handled timely. Processing of subsequent transactions (endorsements, reporting adjustments, cancellations, reinstatements) ensuring that the request meets the subsequent transaction bypass guidelines. Follow escalation procedures for system, rushes and problem resolution, keeping impacted parties informed. Work with Operations Manager to facilitate continuous operational improvements, take on assignments to increase efficiency and improve service What You Need To Apply:
1+ years of related insurance experience. Basic understanding of insurance concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong attention to detail needed. Functional knowledge of product offerings. Analytical skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong computer skills, including email, Windows, desktop navigation, etc. Career Development

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience.
