Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Boiler Operator for an industrial maintenance site in Alpharetta, GA. Preferred qualifications include: Grade A- Steam boiler, stationary and refrigeration engineer Licensed in the state of Georgia Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Must have experience with controls Job Summary: The employee is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of equipment, inclusive of manufacturing equipment, warehouse equipment, shop and plant equipment. This also includes operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The operator will work under little or no direct supervision and may be solely responsible for boiler operation of his/her assigned shift. Responsibilities: Perform startup, operation, and shutdown procedures for all boilers. Operate facility steam boilers and perform routine testing and inspections including but not limited to water sampling, boiler blowdowns, etc. within environmental guidelines Operate facility air compressors and associated equipment to supply dry, oil-free air to the facility. Perform breakdown and routine maintenance on utility system equipment such as boilers, condensate pumps, feed water pumps, etc. Ensure optimal & continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections & maintenance, monitoring metering equipment, and adjusting levels as necessary Maintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement, and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally Identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components Support as necessary with equipment modifications for process changes, new models, and expansion needs Ensure safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues, and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and repair the problem Supervise team of assistant operators and mechanics by delegating repair, maintenance, and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, providing appropriate instruction, and giving constructive feedback on performance Assist as necessary with the identification and sourcing of required parts, supplies, and services Work from simple drawings or notes to complete assigned tasks. Safely operate equipment necessary to perform tasks, adhering to safety standards Ensure that equipment is in a safe and working condition and utilizes the Lock-Out Tag-Out program Ensure the application of Policies and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
