Position Highlights: $15,000 sign on bonus!(current employees of MGB not eligible) Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Location: Waltham (Free Parking!) Job Summary Under the general direction of the Technical Director of the Vascular Center Lab, the vascular technologist will serve as a clinical expert for medical and nursing staff who are seeking diagnostic studies in the Vascular Center Lab. He/she will manage any difficulties they may encounter in the process of ordering vascular lab studies and work closely with Senior Technologist and Technical Director to resolve such difficulties. What you will do: Responsible for the test results, preparation of data, preliminary report writing and transmission of said data to physician and reporting software. Operates ultrasonic equipment and performs diagnostic procedures such as carotid, venous, abdominal visceral, transcranial, or arterial ultrasounds, which require the application of ultrasonic technology; performs physiologic exam of the arterial and venous systems including plethysmography, the use of treadmill; maintains pertinent records and statistical data. Participates in the application of studies as they relate to research protocols and communicates with Senior Technologists about protocols related to such research studies. Qualifications Possess a registered vascular technologist (RVT) credential. Must be certified by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as an RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), an RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer) or obtain this credential within one year of employment.
