Senior Business Analyst, Office Of Academic Innovation Implementation

The Office of Academic Innovation Implementation (OAII) within the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) was established to support university-wide strategic initiatives that enhance the academic landscape through academic technology. OAII oversees the academic technology portfolio and project management across CUNY, integrating web and media-based learning technologies into curriculum to improve the instructional environment for faculty and students. Reporting to the Director of Academic Technology Operations, the Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the success of OAII initiatives by gathering requirements, standardizing processes, and evaluating the effectiveness of academic technology projects. This position involves extensive collaboration with stakeholders, conducting analysis of academic technology needs, and supporting the implementation of innovation solutions to achieve institutional goals. Key duties include: Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to identify technology needs and requirements. Conduct in-depth analysis of existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. Partner with cross-functional teams to design and recommend technology solutions that align with goals of OAA and OAII. Assist in implementing and integrating new technologies, ensuring they are in alignment to meet the university's academic needs. Develop and execute change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new technology solutions. Create communication plans, training programs, and workshops to support users through the change process. Collect and analyze data to evaluate the impact of technology initiatives on academic outcomes. Generate reports and insights to inform decision-making processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with academic departments, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders. Serve as a liaison between technology teams and end-users to gather feedback and address concerns. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in academic technology. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Qualifications: Minimum Bachelors degree and six years related experience required. Preferred: Minimum of 5 years of experience with academic technology, IT project management, or a related field. Demonstrated success in designing and implementing technology solutions in academic or public sector environments. Demonstrated success in change management tasks and business analysis execution. Experience with data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate program outcomes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on user-centric solutions. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively. Proficiency in change management principles and practices. Familiarity with current trends in educational technology and data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools. CUNY Title Overview: Identifies opportunities to improve operational practices and systems, and implements programs aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness. Conducts studies and reviews of operational practices, developing appropriate measurements, reporting findings and identifying opportunities for improvement. Recommends and implements approved changes, reports on results, and plans future performance goals and targets. Coordinates efforts among internal and external teams tasked with resolving business issues. Develops and implements training, communications, ongoing task forces and teams, and other support to maintain and build on results. Performs related duties as assigned. CUNY Title: Higher Education Associate FLSA: Exempt Compensation and Benefits: The salary range is $106,439 - $124,979, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
